A virtual private server, also known as VPS, is a web hosting environment, which allows resources such as CPU and RAM to be allocated to your account in a dedicated way, in addition to having a dedicated IP. Shared hosting users share all resources on the server in which their websites are hosted. There is no guarantee of CPU or RAM in shared hosting. Nor does it provide full root access to the server, unlike a VPS server where users have full access to the server (root access) and can execute commands and make configuration changes in their hosting environment.
